We decided to have a long distance relationship; experienced a death in the family, sickness, near job-loss and other highly stressful situations while keeping each other afloat including fun stuff like his sister getting married. I moved out here to live with him in July and we've been extremely happy together ever since. Neither of us play WoW anymore; we both still play games, just not with each other. We communicate and keep each other in line, and make sure that we allow each other personal space - something that we had learned to become very good at considering it's all we could do to make a long-distance relationship work.
I met my current boyfriend in WoW. In August of , I had just recently and suddenly lost my father, and turned to WoW as an escape from the harsh reality of what had just happened in my life. I had no idea what I was doing, and my guild is the type of guild that if you're not in vent, you won't make friends. Being a mac user, I had no idea how to get vent to work. He called me on skype and helped me set it up, but little did i know how close the two of us would get in the following 6 months. Over time I gradually started only logging into vent when he was online.

I made a point to talk to him as much as I could. We started to skype more, and around the time that we started getting close was the time that I started raiding Dragon Soul with our guild. He was healing on a druid, and I was pew pewing on a hunter. We helped each other get transmog, honor farm in pvp, get gear, valor, everything. People joked that we were joined at the hip.
About 13 months ago we decided to give long distance a shot He lives in Massachusetts, and I live in Las Vegas. We've had plenty of visits and skype every day. It never gets easier to deal with the distance, but we are working on one of us relocating to be closer to the other and then we will see where it goes from there. Met my current boyfriend of two years in wow. We were friends in game for two years before we met and started dating.
We lived in the same state and one weekend I decided I would drive 4 hours to see him: We even have our computers side by side and game together often.
I knew my husband before we started playing WoW together but we were just friends and honestly he annoyed me most of the time because he is 3 years younger then me and seemed immature. We played another mmo which is where we met through a mutual friend and had known each other for about a year. I decided to give the free trial of WoW a chance and he followed me over. Then the texting starts, the phone calls so on and so forth. We admitted that we had feeling for each other in July. He came to visit me in August, I went to visit him in October.
Several states away November, I lost my job and he says come move in with me. That was 5 years ago. We've been married for almost 3 years and we still play WoW together almost every night: I made him a scrapbook about our relationship last year for his birthday and I even put pictures of our main toons in there cause I swear they are married too. They can't do anything without the other. The morning after, I realized what I'd done, apologized profusely and that's when we started talking.
A few months down the line we started visiting each other, 6 months from then she moved in with me and now 3 years later we're still happy and going strong. Still raid together, but we've both taken breaks from the game and she's raided while I just kind of did whatever. I'd be a lot less happy if I'd never met her. I met one of the best people i've ever known in WoW. He was a year older than me but we were inseparable. I played WoW just to talk to him, to quest and level with him. I only wish I wasn't gay, then we probably could have taken things further and I so wanted to but I wasn't into guys.
Four years passed, and we were just as inseparable as usual. We saw the rise of the burning crusade and the blood legion come and try to decimate azeroth. We survived the undead apocalypse, the floating necropolises and one very bad prince. But when deathwing came, I didn't see my friend any more. I wondered if he moved on. He logged on one day, and I greeted him with a flood of messages, he was studying in a university and he couldn't play the game as much as he wanted to.
Eventually I didn't see him much at all, both on the game and other social media sites. I was really down, this guy was my best friend and we had always talked we were so close but now I barely saw him. And then I got a girlfriend. Don't ask me how that happened, it's three years later and I still don't know.
My best friend logged on one day, and as usual we greeted each other with a flood of messages. We exchanged stories, he was silent after I told him about my girlfriend. I thought we worked things out after that, but I was wrong.

It's been three years and I still haven't seen him online, he hasn't spoken to me in that time. It still hurts with every day, what did I do wrong? While he doesn't talk to me, I still send him in game birthday presents on his birthday, just like we used to. I met an ex bf in my old guild, but we were only together for 2 months in which we saw us for around 10 days all in all in which I found that this won't work.
I didn't like his look and really the only thing he was doing was playing WoW. I'm not into rich guys or something, but they should be able to live on their own and have a few goals. After breaking up with him, that genius "hacked" my WoW account. I announced that I stop playing in the guild forum and will sell my account, then someone logged in and sent all my stuff to his characters.
Beside a good friend of mine, he was the only one with my login details so it was totally clear who was it, so I logged in into his account aswell, he got kicked out and wrote me I'll get my stuff back asap. I've been in a long distance relationship with my guild leader for a few months.
We met about a year ago and after a couple months of talking pretty regularly I started realizing I really liked her, and things so far have worked out great. We haven't met in person yet we live two states apart but we do talk on Skype as often as we can. I met my fiancee "online" We talked in instant messenger for a while and we met a few weeks after. In high school, I was 14, almost 15 at the time. We started dating during my Freshmen year of High school. Senior year rolled around and we were still together, going strong.
I was eighteen and I decided I was going to propose. I proposed at my graduation. We've been engaged for two years. Not rushing marriage until we get a degree atleast from college. Now we've been together for almost 5 and a half years. The WoW portion of this story comes in as of late. She's now hooked and it's become almost a nightly tradition for us to play together.
She never thought she'd get into it Well, now she's sitting on a 80 DK, 81 Rogue, and a 66 Hunter WoW has definitely brought us closer, and let us share experience something out of the real world. We'd have been fine without, but it definitely has made things fun. Almost two years ago, now, I got back into WoW and rolled alliance-side on an RP server, with the intent to troll in character.
I ended up at a guild-run tavern RP, and my shiny new Draenei started in on the first Night Elf she saw, spouting all sorts of E'lune is a Naaru nonsense The guy was a good sport about it, and I ended up going back every weekend for a few months Eventually he came out to visit, and decided to stay. I've dated a lot in WoW since I started playing. I haven't found "the one" yet, but it'd be pretty damn awesome if I found him there. WoW love stories are just so sweet. I met my husband on wow, he was a fps transfer and I was a veteran player. I found him incredibly annoying at first but decided to keep talking to him, people can't always be annoying.
Year and a half later he flew miles to meet me and I decided to fly back with him for a 3 week stay D we got married within the first week I was here and we have everything I common Skyped the same night, fell in love, realised we had so much more in common and took it from there.
Begin My Quest
Moving in later this year, getting married in I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. It's slightly more epic than it seems here, if you want the full story just PM me. Not sure when I'll reply, I've got a plane to catch. I've forbidden myself from getting into relationships that start on WoW.
I have my reasons. I guess I have two 'major' experiences with dating via WoW. Both long distance, obviously. First one was more of a social fling. That lasted quite a long time. Guy roughly four years older than me.

At the time I was 17, so I was jokingly called Jailbait for a long while. Anyway, spent a lot of time playing together get your head out of the gutter, folks and in general chatting up a storm. Fast forward a little bit, I change guilds to get more into raiding and he hangs back in the older guild. My attempts to get him into my guild are met with him no call, no showing. Blah blah blah, all Greek to anyone outside WoW. During all this time he tells me about coming out to see me. Distance between us was maybe a ten hour drive or so, so it was completely doable.
Time after time the visits would be called off. Long story short I finally said "screw this" and stopped communications. End of that one? Now and then he'd pop up out of no where, looking for nude pictures because he wanted to be entertained. First few times was when the 'relationship' was rocky at best, so I hate to admit that I complied. Got tired of that, told him that denying him was like kicking a sad lost puppy caught in the rain. He got all huffy at that and I haven't seen him around since. The second relationship that had any credibility to it lasted a long while and I actually met up with the guy.
Yeah, traveled across the country to meet someone for two weeks. I look back on it fondly. We met up when he joined the raiding guild I was in. Initially I had a thing going for his friend. Had more of that weird "I'm trouble" vibe that I really should have listened to because he was very much trouble. Anyway, get with the LDR guy. I can't imagine such a thing would end well. Remember that lady that sold her body for a flying mount?
Granted, 5k gold was a lot back in BC, but still. I'd kill everyone in the world and myself if she wanted it! Has a lot of WoW players on it.

I haven't done much with it since I'm not too interested in a relationship currently, but it may be helpful to those that do want one. And yes, women do play WoW. Like half the population are women. They just don't say they are women because of harassment. Gaming, for whatever reason, has always traditionally been a "man's" world.
Women are just now starting to enter it and being recognized as gamers. Originally Posted by suspendedstasis. He's to afraid I'll meet a better dps than him.
